- The ball joints of the RAM mount allow the camera to be easily adjusted to point any direction. The camera screws into the threaded stud visible at left. The camera is very secure in the RAM mount, but could be safety wired to the aluminum tubing as a backup.
The RAM mount was ordered online from Aircraft Spruce; for the same components pictured, order "RAM-B-231" (the U-bolt with ball joint), "RAM-B-201" (the double socket arm), and "RAM -B-202A" (threaded stud with ball joint). The aluminum tubing used has an o.d. of 5/8" and an i.d. of 0.509, allowing it to just slip over the wing holder fitting on the underside of the wing. The tubing is P/N 03-36050.
